Each school year, the Missouri Association of School Librarians highlights 15 young adult titles as Gateway Readers Award Nominees. Students in grades 9-12 are encouraged to read these nominees, and if they have read two or more by the beginning of March, the students are eligible to vote for their favorite nominee. The winning title is announced in April.
